Last February, the Andalusian company Wellness TechGroup joined the TALQ Consortium as an associate member. The TALQ consortium developed a globally accepted Smart City protocol for central management software of outdoor lighting networks and many others Smart City applications that represents the largest initiative for Smart Lighting standardization and interoperability and responds to the main challenges of building truly Smart Cities like increasing safety and comfort for residents and visitors, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
Recently the American magazine LEDs Magazine, one of the most important resources for engineers, researchers, scientists, and technical professionals which provides comprehensive coverage of solid-state lighting (SSL) technologies, applications, and markets., has announced that TALQ Consortium has reached the milestone of 50 members, confirming the international expansion of the Smart City protocol. TALQ is an open industry consortium and its members include industry leaders such as Telensa, UVAX and Novalume, among others.
Founded in 2012, the TALQ Consortium is establishing a globally accepted standard for management software interfaces to control and monitor heterogeneous Smart City applications. The TALQ Smart City Protocol is a specification for information exchange, suitable for implementation in various products and systems. It enables interoperability between Central Management Software (CMS) and Outdoor Device Networks (ODN) from different vendors, such that a single CMS can control different ODNs in different parts of a city or region.
