Seville, 16th February 2021 | The Andalusian company has recently joined the TALQ Consortium as an associate member, taking an active role in the evolution of the globally accepted interface standard for Smart City applications. Wellness TG will participate in the TALQ Requirements Working Group and Promotion Working Group to shape TALQ specifications along with other industry leaders such as Telensa, UVAX and Novalume, among others.
Founded originally by lighting industry leaders, the TALQ Consortium enables interoperability between Central Management Software (CMS) and Outdoor Device Networks (ODN) from different vendors, not only for outdoor Smart Street Llighting but also for Smart City applications such as waste management and Smart mobility.
The TALQ protocol responds to the main challenges of building truly Smart Cities like increasing safety and comfort for residents and visitors, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions worldwide and improving cost efficiency for Smart City operators by offering a multi-vendor choice that shares a common language for all applications.
TALQ represents the largest initiative for Smart Lighting standardization and interoperability, an objective that aligns with the Wellness TechGroup approach to Smart Cities. The company’s WeLight Smart Lighting solution will be certified as TALQ-compliant soon, including WeLight Manager, the software platform that allows the monitoring and control of streetlighting infrastructure, as well as Actis Products, its line of Smart and autonomous devices used for remote control of light points. The WeLight solution will be available for city managers along with a myriad of additional hardware and software solutions that can be controlled through a single Central Management Software thanks to the TALQ Smart City Protocol.
‘’Wellness TechGroup has been always committed to open-standard products that enable integration with other Smart systems. TALQ presents an excellent opportunity to consolidate this commitment to interoperability through the adoption of the consortium specifications in our renowned CMS WeLight as well as our extensive Smart City solutions portfolio.
Francisco Bernardo, Chief Product Officer.
